Gee Kay originally trained as a commercial artist in Reading. This is when he became aware of people’s mental health issues and so trained as a psychiatric nurse working with the most high risk criminally ill patients in Broadmoor. Gee Kay recognised the importance of art as therapy and its importance in all aspects of recovery.
He was seconded to The Princes Trust working with vulnerable young people. Retrained in 2000 at Brighton Art School he rediscovered his love of silk screen printing which uses many textures and colours, promoting his free expression and high energy work.
