Collection: Annette Martin - Treasures

reasures

These works gather objects of ornament and symbolism — jewelled crosses, keys, crowns, vessels, masks — and treat them not as decoration, but as carriers of meaning. Glitter, gold and embellishment are used deliberately, reclaiming materials often dismissed as excessive or feminine and restoring them to a place of significance.
The pieces hold both devotion and theatre: echoes of ritual alongside hints of masquerade. Some feel like offerings, some like emblems, some like fragments of celebration. Together they explore the idea that what is adorned is not superficial, but valued — that ornament can be a language of power, protection and presence.
