Mason Storm
Masons work like the man himself is a series of contrasts, from humorous observations on contemporary life to sublime reworking of the great masters.
Rather than resting into a tried and tested formula Mason paints what he wants rather than what the market dictates and that’s what makes him one of the most exciting unpredictable artists currently working today. It’s hard to put any label on Masons work and that is part of his enduring appeal, you never know what the subject matter is going to be, however you will never be disappointed with the results.
Mason never had any ‘formal’ art instruction instead he spent his formative years at a local youth center surrounded by a group of artists who went on to become some of the leading lights in contemporary art , learning as he says “by Osmosis.”
You can’t talk about Mason the artist without talking about Mason the man. Mason is a larger than life character who's trademark designer balaclava makes him the center of attention at any event, something he revels in.
“Art is the new Rock and Roll and I am Elvis! What’s the point of doing something if you can’t do it at 100 miles per hour? I don’t relate with the starving tortured artist, like I say I want to be the Elvis or the Hendrix of Art not the Morrissey!”
